For years we have been bombarded by an idealistic image of what a body should look like. The media has pushed the ideology of a thin, well-crafted body as being the sole trait of desirability. This caricature of human form has, over time, filtered through to every level of media imaginable. The Industry's rewiring of our perception has lead to countless social ills and unrest in the real world. Outside of Hollywood and the general media conglomerate the real people of the world begin to view themselves as undesirable and not within their ideal body. This warping of an overall conscious has so far not bothered me, until now. Imagine my surprise to open a pack of my beloved Keebler's E.L. Fudge cookies only to find that the elf-shaped cookies, the squat happy shapes so recognizable from my childhood had been altered. In their place I was faced with a package of thin, tall cookies. Two baffling, mocking columns of stacked cookie dread. These were no longer the delightful treats I so fondly remember snacking on as a youngster. In one bungled executive decision years of my childhood were slashed and destroyed and replaced by something evil. Keebler, you have lost a customer.

Thursday -read some books -watched a movie -made chili
Well, that about wraps up my vacation. I'll be working on friday, saturday and sunday, and then I'll be back in school on monday. The break started off fun and productive, but sort of fizzled out fast.
I've looked at a lot of the work I've one lately, and I just don't feel there's anything creative about it. Since starting school it all seems to have turned into stylized reproductions of existing images. I've been driving myself crazy trying to find inspiration to do something really different, like I used to. Then I dug out my old sketchbooks and looked at some of the crap I did back in highschool. Turns out I haven't lost any creative ability, I've just gained higher standards when it comes to concepts. That's not necessarily a good realization, but I guess it's better than thinking I've lost my touch? I don't know. Anyway, on to new and different things.
IF YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE? So, here's how it works: 1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc) 2. Put it on shuffle 3. Press play 4. For every question, type the song that's playing 5. When you go to a new question, press the next button 6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool.. (XD)
